BitterGourd Soup

Bittergourd looks like a cucumber but its more ugly gourd likes a bump all over it. Bittergourd are very low calories but dense with precious nutrients.

Bittergourd also used in tradition medicine for several other ailments like fever, menstrual pain, colic, skin problem and etc. It also can relieve heat on body. This generally consumed cooked on Chinese cooking like stir fried, soup or steam. Bittergourd has bitter flavour, some people hated it and some liked it because of its bitterness. Last time i don't like it but now i getting to love it.

Ingredients :
(serve for 2 person)


300gm Pork Loins 
1 Bittergourd
10-15 White Pepper, smashed
2 Carrots
Salt for marinate 
1.5Litre water
Salt to taste


Method :


1. Cut bittergourd into pieces (discard the seeds) and marinate with salt ( To lower the bitterness) for 30mins
    and rinse
2. Peel and cut the carrot into slanting chunks
3. Boil water, put in the bittergourd, carrot and pork loins
4. Boil for 2hours
5. Season with salt

Eye problems:  The high beta-carotene and other properties in bitter gourd makes it one of the finest vegetable-fruit that help alleviate eye problems and improving eyesight.
Hangover:  Bitter melon juice may be beneficial in the treatment of a hangover for its alcohol intoxication properties.  It also help cleanse and repair and nourish liver problems due to alcohol consumption.
